Small star clip
by Caspar Connolly

I’m staring into yellow eyes
Of a cat with no collar
We gaze deep
I wonder its name
And its home
Maybe the leaning monastery
Or the kitchen with the three men
I walk along a bumpy white wall
In an empty room
With the black T.V
Red spinning chairs
A single almond
Left to disappear
On a marble paver
At the Hyogo Childrens Museum
5 meters away from 4 visitors
A kissing crustacean
A finely peeled red pear
Holding my breath
Like a black fish
Black like black and white
Dragon fly photo
Leaving the zoo behind
With the smiling dog
Calmly greeted
At night
By two cranes
Towering green and blue
I remembered
To write about Love
It’s not a prize
Or a gift
Its a blessing
But that was 10 months ago
A smiling person
Holding a new cat
In a bath dream
They peered
Through the gap in the bubbles
And there on the pavement
A small star clip
